I own a Navigon 2100 which has SD card with maps of Canada, AK, HI & PR & was going to install the 1.2 software update to it which I had already done to my 5100. I contacted Navigon tech support & was told that if I installed the 2100 update, I might lose the extra maps as the 2100 only came with the 48 contiguous states maps to start with. I asked the tech rep about downloading the 5100 software update to the 2100 & he could not tell me if it would work or not. Does anyone know if the 5100 software update would work with the 2100 without harm? Thanks.
I have a 5100 and 2100 registered at Navigon. The 5100 says the update will be available April 17th. The 2100 says April 22nd. Amazon has the Navigon Map Update service (3 years) for $64.51. Tempted to order but want to see how the 1.2 update works. To update a NAVIGON GPS device such as the NAVIGON 2100, you must register your device with the NAVIGON website. Once you've registered, you can download and install the NAVIGON Fresh application, which you can use to download map and system software updates for your NAVIGON 2100 unit. Navigon 2100 GPS Navigator, SD card preloaded with software and maps of the continental US, rechargeable 1150 mAH lithium ion battery (rated for up to 4.5 hours), car charger, car mount, quickstart guide, limited warranty. About Navigon NAVIGON has been a leader of GPS navigation. Turn on Navigon 2100 by pressing the power button and holding it for a few seconds. A dialog pops up telling you the unlock is done and begging for donation. 🙂 Click on OK to continue. There are 3 desktops included in this package. - Save the files on a new or separate card and try it out. If it dowsn't work just have to reinsert the original card.
