A new custom firmware based on Google's latest mobile operating system has been released, allowing the Samsung Galaxy S2 owners to install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on their handset device.
Based on the specs list posted on GSM Arena, the latest and official update made available for the Samsung Galaxy S2 is the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. But fortunately, custom ROM developers were able to create a firmware based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat update compatible with the 2011 flagship smartphone of Samsung.
Particularly, users can install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy S2 using the CyanogenMod firmware or the CM11 M10 ROM. The firmware is available for the GT-I9100 model of the device.
According to a report on International Business Times, the new CM11 M10 custom ROM available for the Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I99300 is based on Android Open Source Project or AOSP version 4.4.4 KitKat OS.
